Kidepo national park is Uganda’s best tourist destination for game viewing. Unlike other Uganda national parks, Kidepo valley national park has a variety of wild animals in the largest populations. The park has mainly two places for game drives that are; Narus Valley and Kidepo Valley. Narus Valley is vast grassland rolling plain amongst distant views of mountains and hills. Narus Valley is rewarded with a permanent water supply from the Narus River which attracts large concentrations of animals in the valley throughout the year. Commonly found animals in Narus whilst on a game drive include the Savannah elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, lions, and hippos in some of the water-logged areas to mention but a few. Kidepo Valley unlike Narus Valley has less concentration of animals given its dry nature however driving through the Kidepo valley is thrilling while exploring the dry Kidepo with a white sand bed.

After lunch, your guide will take you on an evening game drive into the open Savannah grasslands of the Kidepo Valley National Park where you will be able to spot African Lions that may be sitting along the Narus Valley or on the rocks at the entrance of Apoka park headquarters. Other wildlife that can be spotted in the area includes African Elephants, Leopards, Antelopes, Giraffes, African Buffaloes and so much more. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. There is also an option for the campers as the park has two camping sites, with good facilities, water, and clean latrines, plus you can be provided with a ranger guide to protect you and make you stay in the park safely.

The landscape throughout the park is studded with small hills, rocky outcrops and inselbergs from which one can obtain stunning views in all directions enjoy panoramic views of the Narus River Valley and photographic opportunities of wildlife from all corners.
